Services for Mr. Dalton Guy "Jack" Piercey, 73, of Jackson will be held at George A. Smith North Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mr. Piercey died Sunday, June 25th, 2017 at his home.
Born November 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Almarie Sowell Piercey and the late Gilford Franklin Piercey. He is survived by his children, Lisa Sellers, Patrick and Gina Piercey, William and Nancy Piercey, his grandchildren, Hannah, Cole, Henry, Samuel, Ila Katherine Piercey, Zach Sellers, sister Martha Ann (Marti) Pope, brother Darrell Piercey and was preceded in death by his brother Gene Piercey.
Mr. Piercey was a native of Madison county. He served in the Navy as a Petty Officer Third Class from 1960 to 1965. He received his Associates of Science degree from Jackson State Community College in June 1973. He was a former firefighter, and a quality control manager for over twenty years at Owens Corning Fiberglass, Volunteer Circuits and Paul Beekman. After retirement, he was recognized for over twenty years of volunteer service by Regional Hospital of Jackson, which he was most proud of. Jack spent his remaining years serving the community by volunteering at Jackson Madison General Hospital Work Plus Rehab Center and attending to his beloved tomato plants.
Pallbearers to serve are Patrick Piercey, William Piercey, Chris Pope, Charles Byrd, Joe Byrd, Jody Pickens, and Jimmy Feathers. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Carr, Glenn McCullar, Ralph McCleary, and Richard "Gabby" Hagar
