Larry Dwight Nash, Sr., 72 years and 5 months, of Pinson, TN passed away on April 28, 2017. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Gail Beller Nash; three children: Larry Dwight Nash, Jr., Jeff Nash (Andrea) and Michelle Steen (Jonathan); and nine grandchildren: Heather Nash, Jessica Duet (Joshua), and Logan Nash, Ethan and Maggie Nash, and Matthew, William, Emily and David Steen. Also survived by his mother Laurabel Fisher, brother: Tim Nash (Pam), and sisters: Rose Singleton (Leon), Kitty Obourne, and Anna Traxtle (Monte). Preceded in death by his father Tacker Nash, and brother, David Leslie Nash.
Larry was born on November 15, 1944 in Chester County, TN. He attended Friendship school and Chester county high school and graduated in 1963. He married the love of his life, Gail, on November 27, 1965. The two built a life together filled with love, family, friends, church, travel, and watching either their children, nephews, or grandchildren perform in plays or play a variety of sports. He was a member of the Pinson church of Christ and had been an elder there until recent years. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Those who knew him would remember his infectious smile, his mischievous laugh, his unwavering faith, as well as his competitive nature, and his ability to cope with his health issues or any adversity in life without ever complaining. Larry was the kind of person who always made the impossible seem possible.
Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the South chapel of Smith Funeral home in Jackson, TN. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN
