Peggy Moore Tims was born August 25, 1933 in Oakfield, Tennessee, to William Preston and Eunice Graves Moore. She departed this life on July 14, 2017 in the Paris Henry County Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny E. Tims; her son John E. Tims, II; her son, Timothy M. Tims; and her brother-in-law, Earl O'Hara.

Peggy graduated from Pinson High School in 1951 and subsequently went to work in Memphis for Gaylord Container Corp. She then met her future husband, Johnny, whom she married on December 19, 1952 at Pinson Baptist Church. They were married for 62 years until his death in 2014.

Peggy also worked for 27 years at The Jackson Clinic and later for 15 years for Thomas Ross & Stanfill, Architects in Jackson. She later worked for Henson Construction Services for 8 years.

Peggy had an outstanding personality and was loved by everyone who knew her. Her mission in life was to love and care for her family and to help anyone she met who was in need. She was always smiling and never lost her wonderful sense of humor, even after she was confined to a nursing facility where she battled ongoing illness.

She was a member of Woodland Hills Country Club and met a host of friends over the years. She and Johnny played golf and participated in golf tournaments. She was a member of Malesus Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her granddaughters, Tara Tims and her two beautiful great-grandchildren of Milan, TN; Morgan Tims of Murfreesboro, TN; her brother, Ronald G. Moore (Becky) of Jackson; her daughter-in-law, Karen Presley Tims; her beloved sister-in-law, Lou O'Hara of Memphis; a special niece, Ann Bledsoe of Memphis; a special cousin, Pat Thomason of Jackson who was so helpful to Peggy and Johnny in their later years; a very special lifelong friend, Patsy Garrett of Jackson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Peggy will be missed by all of us.
