Rebecca Ann Tucker Applegate passed away on October 22, 2017 at Jackson, TN. Services will be at George A Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2812 North Highland Ave, Jackson, on October 24 with visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. and services begin at 6 p.m.
Becky attended school in Hardeman County, TN and furthered her education receiving an Associates in Accounting Degree. She was an accomplished businesswoman and active in real estate and owner/operator of AREBA Services.
She was an avid reader, loved organic gardening and cooking. She loved simple life living and was passionate about the environment and protecting/renewing its natural resources. Becky was instrumental in the establishment and development of the Tucker Family Tree Farm in Middleton, TN. Becky was an active home educator to not only her grandchildren, but any others that needed assistance. She was very active in her children and grandchildren's lives by hosting church group and various social activities at her home.
She is survived by her husband Allan Richard "Rick" Applegate, whom she married December 19, 1987, and resided in the Springbrook community near Jackson. Children are Richard Benjamin Wright (Melanie) of Kernersville, NC, Jacqueline Wright Ester (Joel) of Toone, David Applegate (Heather) of Eads, and Karen Kidwell (Larry) of Nashville. Grandchildren are Thomas David Kirby, Lacy Marie Cummins, and Leland Ester of Toone, Valerie Wright of Kernersville, NC, Andrew Applegate and Emily Applegate of Eads, and Grey, Morgan, and Reagan Kidwell of Nashville.
Rebecca was born March 13, 1954 at Bolivar, TN to Ulysses Thornton Tucker and Willie Delphia Mynatt Tucker of the Lacy community near Middleton. Her maternal grandparents were Jeff and Era Hodge Mynatt and paternal grandparents were Ulysses Grant and Elma Stanley Tucker all of Middleton and brother-in-law Bobby Wilbanks and nephew Michael Wilbanks of Walnut, MS who all proceeded her in death. She is also survived by siblings Dorothy Wilbanks of Walnut, MS, Betty Holder (Harold) of Pleasant View, TN, David Tucker (Peggi) of Traverse City, MI, Debbie Frost of Toone, and Richard Tucker (Vickie) of Middleton, and a host additional family members and wonderful friends who loved her dearly.
